Help us recognize the extraordinary individuals and organizations shaping Nebraska’s public health future. On April 1, at the 2025 Nebraska Public Health Conference Awards Lunch, we’ll celebrate the dedication, innovation, and impact of public health leaders working tirelessly to create healthier communities.

Our key partners, including the UNMC College of Public Health, the CHW/P Collaborative, and the Public Health Association of Nebraska will present awards this year. These awards honor outstanding professionals, colleagues, allies, and friends making a difference in public health.

2025 NEPHC Award Categories

Celebrating an individual Community Health Worker/Promotora (CHW/P) or group of CHW/Ps who have gone above and beyond to serve the community through innovative and creative means of reaching the most underserved groups and communities. The nominee(s) demonstrates a commitment to advancing and promoting health for all and passionately works to mitigate barriers to better connect our most vulnerable community members to supportive resources.

Recognizing rising public health practice leaders who exemplify an unwavering commitment to health equity. Through demonstrated leadership, they are creating conditions for all communities to be healthy and thrive. View the flyer!

Honoring individuals strengthening Nebraska’s public health system through outstanding leadership and community service.

Highlighting a distinguished legislator has demonstrated a commitment to advancing and protecting public health through evidence-based policy.

All awards require nominee and nominator contact information (name, organization, job title, email, phone) and a detailed description of the nominee’s achievements. For the Public Health Defender Award, you’ll also need a letter of nomination (up to 1,500 words) and two letters of support (up to 750 words each).
